13 Dec 3 New Year’s Resolutions For A More Spiritual You
It’s December already—I know, I know, it seems like it’s been ten years since the last holiday season. But we’re finally ready for the new year, and that means a new you!
If you want to change something about yourself for 2019, try these 3 resolutions for a more spiritual life:
1. Meditate every day.
Meditation is good for your soul! I bet I don’t need to explain why. But even if you haven’t fully immersed yourself in a spiritual lifestyle and mindset yet, keep in mind that meditation has an incredible number of physical health benefits, too—no “woo” required!
In fact, studies show that meditation has the following effects:
- It reduces stress and anxiety.
- It helps with focus and memory.
- It can decrease blood pressure and improve sleep patterns.
Whoa, right? And taking care of your body will help you, in the long run, take care of your spirit as well.
2. Commune more with nature.
Much like meditating, getting outside will improve your spiritual health—absorbing those pure natural energies is wonderful for clearing out the negative gunk you might pick up during day-to-day life.
But—again, as with meditation—spending time in nature has measured physical benefits, too. For example, the sun supplies us with Vitamin D, which, FYI, we very much need to live! So, when it starts warming up again, open up your door and feel refreshed inside and out.
3. Think about your accomplishments, big and small.
And do this all year around, not just at the new year. Acts of self-care like this nourish the soul as well as the mind.
